Drum and Bass

It's pretty much official that drum and bass is no longer my genre of music.

Drum and bass at its current state just doesn't interest me anymore. There's hardly innovation and it seems that the genre is fully grown, and everything nowadays its just a rehash of something thats been done.

For any kind of music, especially dance music, its important to keep things fresh, but it's totally not happening for drum and bass.

It's not that the music is poorly produced now, in fact, it's probably better. But everything thats been made just doesnt interest me. The current big sound, Noisia, Phace, etc. also isn't really my cup of tea.

It's just not the same anymore. I remember I used to come back home from school, and go to Drum'n'bass arena, and then listen to their dubplates and new releases and go all nuts over almost every tune. I remember back in first year when I was so hyped about d'n'b I'd pump it out all the time. The 2000-2001 period was such an exciting time for drum and bass as all the subgenres started coming out. Guys like Andy C would play everything, hard stuff, techny stuff, liquid stuff, etc. It doesn't really work that way anymore.

So, it's been a good ride drum and bass. Hopefully I'll find something new in dubstep.
