First Dubstep mix

No more computers and traktor and crap... Did this all with my new turntables.

Obviously the mixing isn't that great, it's my first ever mix, so there ARE a few shady transitions. But whatever, it's all for fun. I aimed to make around a 45 min mix but I was a bit off since I wanted the songs to play out a bit for this mix. Oh well, ended up finishing at around the 52 min mark.

Anyhow, enjoy. Download it, post some comments.

It's a dubstep mix. Not drum and bass. I think you guys will like it, I mean, most people at work like it, so you should, haha.

What else is new? My CDJ came in, so I can mix some MORE crazy stuff.

And of course, thanks for Tommyboy for hosting this :)

Album watch!

Boxcutter - Oneiric

This LP really didn't give me a great first impression first time listening to the short clips, but after listening to the whole thing, I realized the problem was that you have to listen to the full length tracks because there was tons of stuff going on in every tune. This is definitely another one of those albums that you can't miss out on.

It's got some really chill, melodic tunes in Bad You Do, Gave Dub and Silver Birch Solstice, and some harder stuff like Rikta, Grub, Skuff D. The drum edits are really what made Boxcutter stand out, it almost sounds IDM to me but not way overboard. I don't really know what to call this style of music, besides that its sorta "dubstep" like.

Favourite tune for me would be Sunshine VIP, a jazzy, organic number. Anyhow, click the link above and check out the clips to get a little idea what this is about.
